I am running for City Council because I believe that the citizens of Encinitas are not always heard. I believe that community involvement is essential to keep our City and it’s unique 5 communities true to the General Plan that was thoughtfully written when our City was incorporated in 1986.

Unfortunately, in the last few years the community has been shut out of the decision making process.

It is time to open up City Hall and let citizens who have vast expertise and knowledge become involved in City government. The City should encourage these citizens who volunteer their time and ideas to be part of the process.

Being an executive Board member of the Mainstreet Association, I know how important buisness is to the community in terms of both tax revenues and a draw to visit.

We must maintain and expand our parks, trails and protect our beaches. The acquisition of open space is of very high priority to me and should be for the City Council.

It is time for change and fairness in our City government.
I know that I can make that change happen.
