This is a grass roots campaign. That means I need all the help I can get from people who believe,
like I do, that Encinitas must return to its roots. The actions of the City Council and the direction
they give staff must uphold the directives of the General Plan, which clearly describe the vision the
founders had for its character and development.
I know your time is valuable but volunteers are the most important aspect of a grass roots campaign.
I need your help to reach people and share our message. Please let me know if I can count on you to help
in any of the following ways:
|
Host a coffee
, at your business or home, for your friends and neighbors. We will be happy to help you prepare, serve refreshments and clean up afterwards so you can focus your attention on your guests. |
|
Walk a neighborhood
, pass out literature, and answer questions. The purpose is to provide accurate information to neighbors who may not have the time to keep up with events at City Hall. That certainly doesn’t mean they don’t care about their community. Later in the election, we may also want to spread the word outside grocery stores and other busy places. |
|
Display a sign
in your front yard or window. The City tradition is that signs don’t go up until 30 days before the election and they can only go on private property. It is easy to do, yet it is very effective. |
|
Write letters to the editors
of the Union-Tribune, North County Times, or Coast News supporting my candidacy. I can supply you with the contact information and guidelines. |
|
Make phone calls.
Please phone at least 10 people you know and encourage them to vote for me. Later in the election, we may also phone specific people to request their support. We will not be doing any ‘blind’ calling. |
|
You tell me!
I am running for office because I want Encinitas to be the best it can be and I believe that can happen only when the voice of the people is being listened to. |
